Mooring Servicing and Mooring Products / Consumables


Approval of consent to service mooring


Kenny Barging Limited on written (preferred) or verbal acceptance of servicing will schedule the mooring servicing at our next nearest available possibility. 

We operate a reminder service which we email reminders to you. We will not service your mooring without consent of the mooring owner.


 

 

Title to product ownership 


Title to all mooring Products:  Ownership of the mooring products does not pass to the customer until the customer has paid Kenny Barging Limited in full. This includes but is not limited to… 

 

  • Mooring Blocks 
  • Chain 
  • Thimbles 
  • Shackles 
  • Rope 
  • Buoy Floats 
  • Time and cost associated with Mooring Servicing / Install 



 

Warranty & Liability 


Mooring works undertaken have a limited warranty only to the date of inspection by Kenny Barging Limited or any contractors employed by Kenny Barging Limited. 


 

Liability


Except for those required or implied by legislation, Kenny Barging Limited or its contractors give no express warranty in relation to products and services supplied to the customer and the customer acknowledges that it has not relied on any representation or warranty made by Kenny Barging Limited or its Contractors. 


 

Mooring Inspection Certificates

 

All mooring certificates on completed mooring services, will be sent directly to The Marlborough District Council. A copy of your mooring certificate is available from us on request, as a result you may receive a monitoring notice/invoice from The Marlborough District Council. Any queries regarding these notices / invoices should be directed to the Marlborough District Council.   


 

Continued Responsibility between servicing


  • Until the next biennial service it is your responsibility to keep a close check on the condition of the mooring rope and float and to keep it as clean as possible to prevent the weight of growth from sinking the float. 
  • Ropes can wear very quickly at friction points, i.e: fairleads, bollards, cleats, anchor rests etc. 
  • It is also important to ensure that your vessels electrical system is in good working order to prevent electrolysis from affecting the metal components of your mooring.

 


General Cartage Terms 


Kenny Barging Limited will undertake cartage of items as agreed with the customer at the time of booking with the office team. 

 

Kenny Barging Limited or its contractors give no guarantee or warranty to items delivered unless the following processes are followed, and accurate information is provided. The customer acknowledges that it has not relied on any representation or warranty made by Kenny Barging Limited or its Contractors. 


 

Delivery terms and process

 

  • A detailed description of all items to be carted are to be provided to office team at least 7 days prior to departure date to ensure that all items received onsite at our depot. 
  • All items for loading onto the vessel be delivered prior to 3pm the date prior to vessel booking.   
  • All individual items to be clearly labelled with the customer name at an absolute minimum, additional information such as jetty number, or bay location, is appreciated I.E ‘Joe Smith - Jetty # Q5234’ 
  • On arrival to our Picton Depot all persons must report to a member of our team and advise what they are delivering and for who. Our team will advise on where to place items and if required our team will provide labelling as required. If no one is at our yard, please call our office number on 03 573 6155, if there is no answer please leave a detailed message. 
  • Any items delivered for delivery, that have not been communicated as freight to our office or logistics team are not the responsibility of Kenny Barging Limited, or any of its employees or contractors. 


 

Storage of Goods


While we will do our absolute best to ensure the safety of your items, there are certain aspects that are not able to be controlled. All items dropped off for delivery at our depot are stored at the owners risk. Whilst at our yard any items are not insured, please insure your items accordingly. 


Any items that require covering or securing due to weather is the responsibility of the owner to organise prior to items being delivered to our yard. 


Insurance 


All items of freight are carried in line with the ‘Carriage of Goods Act’. Any Insurance cover over the value of anything over and above the limitation of ‘Carriage of Goods Act’ are the responsibility of the owner. Please take time to check with your insurance provider that your materials and equipment are covered when being carried on water.



Cancellation Policy


Our barges are in high demand, your early notice enables other important work to be arranged & is greatly appreciated.

When booking space on our barges, you are holding space that is no longer available to others. These bookings require a lot of logistics, planning & crewing. If a cancellation is necessary, we require you to do so at least 48 hours prior to your departure date.

Any cancellation made in less than the required timeframe will result in a cancellation fee. The amount of the fee will be of 50% of the services booked or as quoted.
